Nelsonville area news reports S. A. Murphy of Buchtel chosen president of the York Township Board of Education at a Monday meeting held at Buchtel High School. Officers named include William Dishong as vice president and Charles Kinsey as clerk treasurer. Building committee members are Homer Adams, B. H. Wagner, and Wm. Dishong. Regular meetings set for 7:30 p.m. on the last school day of each month at the high school.
Mrs Mary Daugherty 58 of Main St Straitsville died yesterday morning. She is survived by husband Daniel, five sons Thomas Columbus Frank Elyria Dan Camp Barkley Lex John Charles New Straitville, two daughters Kathrine at home Agnes Toledo, and sister Nell Duffey Columbus. Funeral set for nine in St Augustine Church tomorrow morning.

A fire in Nelsonville engulfed the company house of Ben Wagner at Buchtel about 3 o clock Thursday afternoon. The loss was confined to household furnishings partly insured. Fire Chief Dana Winden and Patrolman Charles Thompson assisted with equipment. efforts focused on stopping spread to adjacent buildings and other residences.

Chauncey will host Glouster High School against the Dover Blue Devils on Saturday night January 10. The doubleheader starts with the Reserve game at 7:30 and the varsity at 8:30. This marks Glouster’s first Chauncey appearance in several years and the teams meet once this season. A close, hard fought contest is expected with a strong crowd.
