Widow Mary Grosvenor Dies in Music Run Fire
Mrs Mary Grosvenor a widow burned to death at her home on Music Run while carrying live coals to a cook stove. Her clothing ignited and she moved through rooms trying to extinguish flames. A neighbor Barney Wyatt found her severely burned and she died after midnight. She was widow of Thomas Grosvenor and sister of General C H Grosvenor. Unsuccessful Burglar Burglary at Chauncey House
Chauncey January 6 A bold burglary occurred Thursday night or Friday morning at the residence of Thomas Witmen. Thieves entered through a window and ransacked drawers scattering contents. They took about $1.60. A tray horse and buggy found nearby may have belonged to the burglars abandoned in fright. No claimants yet.
