Glouster Kiwanis Club installs 1942 officers at a Ladies Night gathering at the Hotel Gordon. C. F. Wallace named president with George Campbell as vice president and a full board listed. W. O. Bailey re-elected secretary treasurer, O. L. Easley retires as president, E. S. Lashmett of the Navy Recruiting Substation, Athens, speaks, and Dr. A. A. Baldwin becomes a new member. Committees to be announced next Tuesday.
Glouster junior Progressive Study Club met at Mrs. Gail Wallace home to discuss Ohio's Natural Resources. Plans were made to send boxes to soldiers and collect names of area boys in camp. Other items note bridge club entertainments and several social visits across area families.
Chester High defeats J-T 41 to 19 with Captain Skinner scoring 16 and Wolfe adding 17. In the opener J-T seconds beat Chester reserves 19 to 13. Also notes include Marcellite Rebekah Lodge meeting and Trimble council appointments.
The Progressive Study Club met Tuesday evening at Mrs. Ernest Williams home on Broad Street Miss Lalla Danford reviewed Singing in the Wilderness a life of John Audubon and Mrs John S Blower spoke on The Life of John Burroughs Nature lore was the roll call Candy was served by the hostess to listed members GLOUSTER Missionary Society of the First Baptist Church will meet at Mrs Thomas Brown home at 7 oclock this evening
Mrs. Herbert Zimmer and her infant daughter were brought home Wednesday from Sheltering Arms Hospital Athens in the John S. Blower ambulance. Also reported their sailor son Lewis Mingus, who served in the U S Navy, is now at Norfolk Virginia following his departure several weeks ago.
