Everett Nott twenty five unmarried was instantly killed in No. 6 Mine at Millfield by falling coal. A mass of coal crushed his head and broke his right leg while he was cutting under a rib shot. He was dead on removal. His parents Mr. and Mrs. John Nott of Derthick survive. Coroner L F Jones will investigate.
Secret Service agents captured Enrike Von Buelow a German World War I ace in Newark New Jersey on a counterfeit currency case. He was found hiding in a Montreal plane cabin and held as a federal prisoner at Newark police headquarters with information restricted by the agency.
Five bodies were found by police and firemen after a downtown San Francisco apartment house fire early today. Eleven others were rushed to hospitals with serious burns or injuries, with fears that more occupants remained trapped in hallways or unreached apartments.
Treasury figures show a deficit of 1,159,286,502.48 for the first six months of the current fiscal year, closing December 30. The outstanding public debt rose to 20,805,556,791.76, up from 17,825,449,??? the prior year.
George Datko a 42 year old Campbell police officer was treated at St Elizabeth Hospital Youngstown for a bullet wound in the left arm inflicted by his wife during a quarrel police said Datko was wounded Jan 4 and hospitalized in stable condition
Dr. Elmer Burritt Bryan president of Ohio University will discuss state tax supported education tonight at 4 10 over WEAO the Ohio State University broadcasting station. The program airs on WEAO a station linked with Ohio University.
Senator Earl R. Lewis introduces a bill to require Ohio mined coal in all public schools and tax supported buildings. He says immediate adoption would reduce unemployment in 23 coal towns and boost annual sales of 2 million tons. The Burn Ohio Coal Association backs the measure, while fears of price gouging and loss of competition are noted.
A filling station attendant near Logan reports a person resembling missing R S McCoin was seen at her station last week. Deputies could not confirm identification from press photos. McCain's car was found in Columbus after he left his North Carolina home.
Funeral services were held for a seven member family killed by a kerosene explosion that burned their home in Shelby. Mrs James Miller and the children were in bed. Miller escaped but died later in hospital. Parents and youngest child buried together, others in a separate grave.

Sheriff records show a Harold Van Bibber from this county was sent to Mansfield Reformatory in September 1931 for burglary and released last November.
In Kansas City a police chauffeur’s wife aided her husband after a station holdup attempt. One robber died, another was wounded, and two women were arrested. The dead man was Howard Lee Stanley, 24, of Canal Winchester Ohio. the wounded man was Harold Van Bibber, 24, of Logan Ohio. The women were identified as Mrs Louise Stanley widow of Stanley and Eva Slagle 16 of Wailing Kentucky.

To save bus drivers from license costs about half of Athens County township school boards will own buses for the rest of the year. Vehicle licenses for board owned buses cost $1, while privately owned bus licenses run up to $100. Maude Lowry named clerk at 100 dollars a month and John Spitzer named courthouse custodian at 120 dollars a month. Meeting set for the first and third Monday each month. Special meetings frequent. Visit to sheriff's residence and Athens County Infirmary with plans for improvements at the sheriff's home including papering dining rooms ceilings and new linoleum in dining room.
