Pete Werner overseas in Germany received a birthday box. Shut ins got Valentine pins and Easter plans were announced. The program by Mrs. Sarah Fowler focused on Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery and Thou Shalt Not Steal with devotions by Rhoda Hall. A guest, Marsha Bess King, attended and a salad course followed.

Groceries Stolen At Eber Pickens Grocery Near Portland
The Meigs County Sheriff's Department investigates a break in at Eber Pickens Grocery and Service Station near Portland. Entry was gained by breaking a front door lock and a large quantity of groceries was stolen. A doe was struck and killed by a car on Route 143. Lee Dailey, 44, Portland, was arrested for driving while intoxicated and jailed.

Rose Garden Club Hosts February Meeting at Tuppers Plains
Mrs Kula Swan hosted the Rose Garden Club February meeting in Tuppers Plains with Mrs Rose Carr presiding. Geraniums was the program topic by Mrs Marle Griffith. A rummage sale is planned for early April and Easter baskets will be prepared for a March 21 event at Mrs Helen Darst's home to sell for 75 cents to 1 50.
