Reapportionment plan may hold until decade end says Brown
Secretary of State Ted W. Brown, in Athens on his traveling office tour, says the Supreme Court upheld reapportionment and lawmakers likely will not redraw the 17 district lines before next elections. He cited better voter focus with fewer candidates, noted residency rules, and described county election board appointments and cross county attendance by eight counties. Other counties, including Washington and Jackson, participated in the discussions.
