Nine teen thousand liquor and beer permit holders in Ohio were notified by mail to remove any slot machines or gambling devices on their premises. Liquor Director Joseph H. Scobell said future violations will trigger immediate revocation proceedings against the permit holders.
E. M Baugher and Langdon T Williams, former president and vice president of the Columbian Building & Loan Co., were released today from the London Prison Farm after serving less than a year of their one to 10 year sentences. They received sentence commutations from former Gov. George White. The men had been convicted last March of abstraction and misapplication of funds from the building and loan firm.
Mrs. Katherine Raitt 35 grappled with a burglar at her Forest Park Drive home early today. She forced him to flee with only one ring worth 350 dollars instead of a tray full of jewelry. She was alone with two children and a maid. a wall barometer used to beat her cut her face as the intruder fled.
Wilkes Barre Pennsylvania February 18 two dynamitings opened the twelfth day of the United Anthracite Miners strike. Two men were shot dead and two others seriously wounded in South Wilkes-Barre as explosions hit homes of United Mine Workers members. Mrs James Martin suffered shock while Benjamin Durchrowski and another miner from Glen Alden Coal Company were implicated.
CLARKSBURG W V Feb 16 UPI State Police say Agnes Neely aged year old shot herself on her wedding eve and claimed a fiancé named James Powers. Police found no such person in Clarksburg or nearby, noting she was engaged but no Powers connection could be located.
Liquor Director Joseph H. Scobell said a new store is needed near Ohio State University. He noted University area sales rival any in Columbus and said college authorities agree on the necessity of a nearby liquor shop.
Ripley reports sales totaling 4,734,450 pounds on the season closing yesterday. The average price stood at 15.08 dollars per hundredweight, reflecting steady demand for the crop.

When a motorist pleads guilty after arrest by a constable, the justice can only bind over to common pleas or discharge, except where an injured party signs an affidavit against another in the accident.
In Findlay on February 15, it was announced that checks totaling $60,000 will be distributed among beet farmers in the district on March 1 by the Great Lakes Sugar Company.
In a Huntsville style interview from the Hunterdon County jail Hauptmann rejects any confession of an accomplice and says he cannot reveal names. A New York newspaper claimed police know the second man involved in the ransom plot and hid his identity. Police officials could not confirm the report.

Columbus, Feb. 15. Attorney General John W Bricker informed the State Tax Commission that sales of feed seeds lime and fertilizer are exempt from the Ohio sales tax. Bricker ruled that taxing such sales would let nonfarm vendors avoid tax while farmers could sell tax free.
Pittsburgh February 18 President Michael F. Tighe of the Amalgamated Association of Iron Steel and Tin Workers said the drive for organization of the industry is definitely assured and will have the support of the American Federation of Labor. Funds for the campaign will be supplied largely by the Federation after talks in Washington with the AFL executive council.
Columbus reports Pike County confronted with accusations of vote selling and misuse of highway funds. Officials including the prosecuting attorney and county election board were summoned to explain affidavits alleging citizens sold votes for $2 each in the November election. The House sought inquiry into a $4,100 payment for 614 acres for Lake White amid alleged collusion and a $176,000 highway contract redirected to dam the lake.
