Tri County Home Nursing Plan Moves Forward in Logan Board
The Logan Hocking County board of health discussed progress on the tri county home nursing program under a new Health Coordinator from Huntington with a $6000 salary and travel allowance funded by state and federal funds. A second nurse will be hired to cover Hocking, Vinton and Athens counties as funds permit. The board reported only 0.3 of 5 mills used for operating expenses and routed vaccine distribution in Laurelville and South Bloomingville showing strong early uptake. Clinics are planned in Murray City and Laurelville with a mobile X ray unit being sought for fall. An additional milk testing review of Ackers Dairy prompted stricter grade A requirements for permits.
