Federal funds totaling two million dollars will aid drought stricken Ohio counties. Health Director Dr. Southard said a survey of 25 counties will determine Ohio's share. The money funds prevention and control with Red Cross assisting individuals. distribution through state health officers.
Columbus reports the Pringle-Roberts Bill to allow short term bonds for relief projects will go to the House next week. The Lowery Bill providing 50 000 for drought and unemployment relief for needy children passed the House by 117 to 1 and advances to Governor White for signature.
A Valentine party for 400 seventh to ninth graders will occur Friday afternoon from 3 15 to 4 45 in the Junior High School building. Activities include games dancing and cards with 25 bridge tables 8 ping pong tables and checkers dominoes in separate rooms. New speakers donated by patrons will provide music in all rooms. Parents are invited to attend and the event will be chaperoned by junior high teachers led by Student Council with principal Mr Oliver Wood assisting.
Betty Wick age 11 and Joseph Wick age 16 died in a Ghent Road Akron fire that destroyed their Laurel family residence. Three other family members were injured in the blaze. Authorities continued investigations into the cause of the deadly fire.

Columbus February 12 The House Committee on Benevolent and Penal Institutions again deferred action on Representative F P H Rogers bill. The measure would sterilize feeble minded and epileptic persons before their release or admission to state institutions. The committee heard arguments for and against and deferred action until another meeting called by the chairman. Doubt remains on whether the bill will be recommended for passage.
Charles Cuffee of Norfolk Virginia and Thomas Mitchell of Cincinnati Ohio, both described as Negro, are charged with the July 24 killing of Homer Griffith, a Columbus taxi driver, according to U P dispatches.
George D. Brunner, a 48 year old Westerville farmer, died in St Paris from a back wound after being shot outside his home on August 20. Death attributed to exhaustion from paralysis. Croft, a former St Paris baker, was sentenced to 18 to 70 years in the Ohio Penitentiary. Prosecutor Vane said double jeopardy questions could block a new trial.
