A Trimble man, 57, was struck and killed instantly by a car driven by Harry Williams while crossing a street in front of his home to catch a ride to the Mine Drydock at Millfield. Coroner Jones and State highway officials investigated. tests on the brakes showed the vehicle needed 60 feet to stop at 35 mph. The driver did not see the victim until impact. the victim, L. Madinghaus, left a widow and six children.
