Akron February 1 Daniel Markov 48 died after leaping from a second story bathroom window at St Thomas Hospital where he had been treated for arthritis since December 15. Attendants reported he locked the bathroom door, removed his glasses and jumped feet first through a small window.
Coroner James K. Biddie planned an autopsy on Scott Freed a 35 year old musician who died at a party with friends amid rumors he may have ingested poison. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death in Mansfield.

George Young 38 of Lima pleaded guilty to hijacking a load of eggs belonging to C. W. Nash Celina last July 11 and was sentenced to 10 to 25 years in the Ohio penitentiary.

He cited Emerson data showing machines replace 14 to 100 men, reducing required hard labor in production.
Esther Filley faces manslaughter charges for the November shooting of Margaret Green at Floyd Nixon’s Deanville home. Coroner L F Jones testified Green died from a bullet wound to the abdomen with an alleged knee-shot remark by Filley noted by defense counsel. A gun and the shooting scene were described by local reporter C H Bartlett and deputy sheriff Goldsberry during the morning session. The jury, including Harold Coe and others, sat for trial in Athens County Common Pleas Court.
