Governor-Elect Myers V. Cooper planned a message on election law reform to Ohio’s General Assembly as part of a Cleveland visit for a Masonic gathering. He signaled opposition to the Peace Law and pressed for changes while avoiding specifics on state policy.

Toledo December 28 A renowned Ohio mother of two has received double aviation honors unmatched by any American woman. Mrs Hattie Myers Junkin known as Mrs Waco is named one of the Early Birds members, honoring pre war pilots who contributed to world war aviation and later commercial progress.
A hunchback with falsetto voice commanded three robbers in a night of raids on the south side. They struck a restaurant and Joseph Adler’s drug store wounding Salvatore and killing Regina. Adler, a one legged veteran, confronted them but the bandits escaped with Cassel not captured.

Gloucester mayor Hugh Gormley appeared before Mayor E A Johnson in Trimble on Thursday and pleaded guilty to an intoxication charge. He was fined 50 dollars plus costs and agreed to pay 10 dollars and costs by Saturday night December 29, with the remainder suspended as long as he remains sober. Johnson, also reporting the arrest of Constable Charles Darling, notes Gormley had previously pleaded not guilty and claimed a frame-up by county officers.
A 68 year old man FRAUENREDER accuses a stuttering siren of hiring a scheme at the Vaulmans home to photograph him in undergarments and steal his diamond. The husband threatened him with a gun, demanded undress, and took the diamond while Mrs Vaulman watched. The Vaulmans were arrested and George promised to return the diamond and destroy evidence.
Officials at Columbia University deny reports that the institution sold three blocks of city property to John D. Rockefeller Jr. for more than 100 million dollars. The denial comes as the story circulates from New York sources dated December 28.

The couple traveled 500 miles to bypass Wisconsin law disallowing first cousin marriages. Mrs Buechner hails from Grand Rapids Michigan.
Fifteen new influenza cases were reported to Dr. J. M. Higgins in Athens County, reaching 160 total and suggesting many more undetected. Mayor Rex Moore and numerous city workers, bankers, and store staff were ill, with several offices and the Athens Post Office heavily affected as the epidemic spread through the community.
In Philadelphia on December 28 Judge William H. Kirkpatrick fined Alfred Norris, a Philadelphia and New York banker, $200 after evidence showed Norris bought liquor from Joel D. Kerper to take to his New York home. Col. Samuel O. Wynne, prohibition administrator for Pennsylvania, said the ruling would set a valuable precedent and help prosecute purchasers involved as conspirators in transporting liquor.
