Four Days Left to Apply for 1929 License Tags
Athens county registrar Dave Johnson announced only four days remain to apply for 1929 license tags. About 1,200 more tags must be sold to meet last December’s quota as applications continue to come in after 1 pm with heavy afternoon activity. Wednesday saw 200 passenger car tags and 25 truck tags issued, bringing totals to 1,400 passenger car tags and 200 truck tags. Hatchet Fatal Attack Ties Lovers in Detroit Hospital
Mrs. Florence Montgomery and Eugene Gable, both 24, appeared to end a contentious romance in City Hospital after Montgomery struck Gable with a hatchet and ingested poison. Ship Explodes at Navy Yard Killing One Man

Forty Men in Jail and Three New Arrivals in Nelsonville
