Oldest County Cabin Faces Ruin Near Sugar Creek
A two story log cabin on Route 550 in Sugar Creek, possibly Athens County’s oldest structure built around 173 years ago, is deteriorating with a collapsing roof and crumbling lean-to. Once a community meeting site, it is owned by Sugar Creek Coal and Mining Co. and no plans for restoration are known.
