Gen and Mrs Grosvenor hosted over two hundred guests at University Terrace on Tuesday night from 7 50 to 10 20 to close a series of entertainments before leaving for Washington for the winter. Accidental Gunshot Fatality in Floodwood Rocks Cooley
Martin Cooley, about 28, was shot in the heart and killed instantly when John Tolliver’s double barreled gun discharged as it was placed on a saloon counter after a hunting trip. Coroner ruled accidental. burial arranged in Nelsonville after relatives notified. Cooley, a former New Straitsville resident, had been employed at local mines.
