A family of five, Mrs Fred George and four children from Rutland, escaped injury when their car slid in the snow on Middleport Hill and went over an embankment near the Fugate property. They were taken to a Middleport doctor's office by Chief of Police Herbert Gilkey after a chin laceration to the son from a sled accident earlier.
