Local Firemen Repair and Paint Toys for Christmas
Logan fire chief Robert Courter explains volunteers repair and repaint bicycles, tricycles, dolls, and other toys for needy children. The project started with Boy Scouts but now relies on firemen and a welder volunteer. Toys go to families on signed Welfare Department lists and to organizations making baskets for the needy.

County officials and welfare department staff plus board of elections members gather for an annual Christmas party at Brandts Mecca Room at 6 30 p m. Mrs. Mary Anne Reed and Mrs. Wilma Lehman finished shopping and wrapping gifts for about 50 Hocking County children in foster homes. Female St. Nicks from the Child Welfare Department aided by clubs and individuals. Each child submitted a list of requests, usually three items, and foster parents collected the gifts from the courthouse office.
Fourth Democrat enters race for Hocking County Sheriff
Robert Campbell of Logan aged 42 became the fourth Democrat to announce his run in the May primary. Other contenders include James Bartlett of Logan Route 1 Paul Hartman known as Puffy of Logan and Joe Brenick of Logan Route 3.
