East Liverpool firemen ruled that a kerosene explosion caused a fatal blaze that killed two women and a nine day old baby. The oil had been poured on a coal stove to hasten the flames. Victims named are Verna Mullen age 28 and her grandmother Elizabeth Roush age 74. The baby also died with Patricia, the mother’s 20 month old daughter gravely injured.
Two men broke into the E. F. Sells dry goods store at 19 N. Court St. before fleeing when merchant policeman Jesse Henry approached. They smashed a rear window and tried to enter the main room but nothing was taken, according to Mr. Sells.

Whaley Gordon K. Bush P. F. Good Fred H. Beckler and T. M. Wolfe. T. W. Craig retires as president and joins the board.
Jesse N. Thompson aged 67 from Hillaboro ne gro was executed in the electric chair last night for the fatal shooting of Herberts Green on July 11.
