In Nelsonville, two cases were dismissed by Mayor Earl Hilleary. Assault and battery charges against Jerry Dodd were dismissed for lack of evidence. A $10 check issued by David H Searles was dismissed after the amount was paid.
Members of Twig Five of Mount St. Mary Hospital Guild voted to give $100 to the hospital as a Christmas gift. The meeting doubled as a Christmas party at Mrs. Eleanor Hammond's home, with 12 members and two guests present. Guests included Sister Williams and Mrs. Judy Wells.
The New Straitsville Betterment Association plans its annual meeting Monday at 7:30 p.m. in the mayor's office to elect officers for two years and discuss continuing the Moonshine Festival.
