The death of Mrs J OL Copeland occurred Wednesday at her river home near Newland after a long tuberculosis illness at age 62. A Bohemian man named Karel, 13, left Bohemia for a new life in the United States and wandered lost through Troy township, naked and freezing. He was found near Coolville station, barely alive, and taken to the Athens county infirmary and later to St Francis hospital in Columbus where most of his toes must be amputated. His lips and fingers were frozen, and he remained unable to speak English while his wife and three children anxiously await his recovery and a potential reunion across the Atlantic.
