In Ames Township the recent election had thirty ballots missing the name of Charles Russell Miller. The Athens election board investigated and found the omission did not blame the judges as pastors dropped the pasted papers between table and wall at about eight. About fifty votes were cast before finding the pastors and many voters wrote Miller’s name on tickets otherwise.

The Athens County Farmers Institute was held Friday and Saturday and praised as one of the best in the history of the organization.
