Shade River Reclamation Project Awaiting Board Decision
Ohio state rep Ron James says the Board of Unreclaimed Strip Mined Lands will decide on the Shade River Reclamation Project at its December or January meeting. The Meigs County site would be graded and revegetated to stop contaminated sediment from entering Shade River with up to 75 percent private property aid.

Bids Exceed Funds For Wellston High School Repairs
Wellston School board, administration, and architect will study bids for high school repairs after bids topped available funds from an Economic Development Administration grant. Lowest general bid for doors and windows was 157 289 dollars. heating and electrical work bids ranged up to 161 500 dollars. A judge ordered Allen Semenchuk to appear on forgery charges after he pleaded guilty to signing another’s name to a check. A presentence investigation is planned.
