Library Board seeks new site for facility near Logan center
Logan-Hocking County District Library trustees decided to pursue a new library and bookmobile facility at a site near the Logan business center. Prosecutor Christopher Veidt will be asked to contact owners of the proposed property. Fred Good, former Logan City Schools superintendent, was sworn in as a new trustee succeeding Leon Eichel. Patrick Finan was appointed deputy library clerk to assist Howard St. Clair and cover during his absence. Finan also reported plans for a Christmas party for preschool children.

Jail in Mason Is Repaired After Explosion Killings
Mason County jail in Point Pleasant has been repaired after the 1975 explosion that killed five people including Sheriff Pete Wedge. The project restores the facility with a new section completed. The library hosts a Dec. 20 party for children and continues weekly story hours for ages three to five. Two committees were formed to study salary proposals and budget, proposing a 9 percent salary increase for 1978 library staff.
