Ohio Senator Willis declares willingness to lead if party desires while Hoover backers plan a definite presidential boom within six weeks. The developments follow President Coolidge's recent pronouncement shaping the national political outlook for 1928.
President Coolidge told the Republican National Committee in the White House East Room that the party should plan for the future and nominate a candidate to succeed him. He reaffirmed his August 2 statement that he would not run in 1928 and urged vigorous effort to choose another distinguished man.

Blood counts rose to 146,000, doctors pessimistic. blood poisoning cited. Newton, born in Ohio, led Sunday Creek after John Jones, and was a vice president. Funeral in Columbus on Friday with burial in Milan. He leaves wife and two children Jeanette and William.

James Doris of Columbus alleges his wife Lillian 18 was sold by her father to a 57 year old Richland county farmer. Columbus detectives and Sheriff Ralph Schab went to Mansfield to question the alleged purchaser and verify the claim. Doris says she disappeared December 2 and was found on a farm near Mansfield. The Boggs farm near Ganges was named as the site.
William B. Prenter former president of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and a builder of the Canadian Pacific railroad died today in Cleveland after long illness. He led the union for fifty years and succeeded Warren S. Stone as president in 1925.
