Action urged on Plains school consolidation and annexation
About 150 residents heard officials warn that delays in consolidating The Plains School District could cause problems. Ohio education official Morton floated a possible one year charter extension for The Plains High School if consolidation advances. The second vote on annexation to Athens city schools was set for early spring, with Porter urging careful timing and warning that if annexation fails planners may pursue other county options.
