Athens County Trio Arrested for Drunken Disorderly Conduct
Tony Rowan of Athens County was arrested for drunk and disorderly behavior along with two companions Delbert Kesterson and Henry Nicholson. Rowan pleaded guilty and paid a $3 fine plus costs claiming he was assaulted and robbed after sustaining a head wound. The trio had been drinking and disputed the incident with police.

Drunken whisky tragedy shocks Nelsonville youth
An adopted son of a Nelsonville man and a young girl visited a crossroads saloon for a half pint of whisky. The 11 or 12 year old boy drank the entire bottle en route to a dentist, suffering severe agony and ending up confined to bed from alcohol poisoning.

Train collision near Dallimore kills three
A express train crashed into the rear of an accommodation train eight miles from Dallimore Md this morning. Three people were killed and 20 injured. The express engine and several coaches were smashed. The three dead were colored. Most of the injured were school children aboard the local train.
