Murder charges still pending in McBride death case
Athens County prosecutors disclosed that Barbara McBride died by her own hand at Lima State Hospital on November 7 while murder charges against her remain pending.Officials say the hospital failed to perform required patient checks and that communication with county prosecutors is poor. The case was filed after her 1970 indictment for the deaths of her two young sons near Athens.

Gas company customers in Athens and nine nearby Athens County communities will see about a 12 cent monthly bill increase starting December 21.
