A couple jumped from a stalled auto on railway tracks at Chauncey and survived as their vehicle was wrecked in the collision with an oncoming train. The incident left the car badly damaged and responders assisted the pair.
Mr and Mrs Clay were enroute to Toledo when their Chevrolet sedan stalled on Main Street crossing. Unaware of an oncoming southbound train due at 4 15 p m the couple fled the car uninjured. The wrecked vehicle was carried along the track before being thrown aside. Eyewitnesses reported the incident near the crossing.

Frank Kozel aged 19 was sentenced to fifteen days after entering a Cleveland city zoo enclosure in an apparently drunken state. Patrolman Ernest Miller testified he disturbed the peace by chasing kangaroos and rabbits in the enclosure under Judge Bell's authority.
