Brunswick Ga August 27 The Redfern flight committee said Paul Redfern’s 518 gallons of fuel were insufficient to stay aloft for more than 51 hours 45 minutes and there is no hope of reaching Rio de Janeiro. Naval officers doubted his survival as conditions favored head winds.

Fred Leneau of Auburn was pulled alive from a collapsed well after 30 hours buried under soil and debris in Worcester. Rescue teams sunk a new shaft, used oxygen and electric heat, and he was brought to surface by a life belt and rope amid a 16,060 crowd.
Relatives await approval of tentative services to honor Miss Mildred Doran Captain William Erwin and crew. Plan calls for services about 700 miles at sea on the great circle route as searchers scoured the Pacific with many vessels and patrols.
Simson monoplane Royal Windsor arrived in Clemens Michigan from Curtissfield New York after rough weather. Pilot Duke Schiller said the aircraft will be ready for the projected flight to Windsor England once conditions improve.

In Streator Illinois Aus 27 a coroner jury formally charged Harry Hill son of a wealthy physician with matricide. The jury found Mrs Hill died of a gunshot wound and recommended the son be apprehended and held to the grand jury for murder. The suspect had not been located since leaving a friend’s home in Chicago Tuesday.
