Elizabeth Ohl, 21, jailed for ten days for trespassing on state property and liquor charges, ended a two day hunger strike at the Mansfield Soldiers and Sailors' Home. She ate hash after a marriage proposal reportedly arrived from a reader. She faces liquor charge trial next week.
Moscow reports the Soviet government rejects the U S protest over the seventh congress of the third communist international. N Krestinsky says the U S cannot claim obligations to the international and cannot accept the protest. The Legion investigation committee urged a 1 million dollar budget for the Ohio Soldiers and Sailors' Orphans' Home for the next two years, amid ongoing scrutiny by Legion and a governor appointed panel.
The state parole board released 56 Mansfield Reformatory inmates and approved one conditional release and seven paroles for women at Mansfield. Four cases at Marysville and 56 at Mansfield were continued. Athens lists Albert Binderbasin facing breaking and entering and larceny with Oct. 1 release.

Joseph W. Wadden of Pittsburgh is named chairman of the new labor relations board. New members include John M. Carmody, a former chairman of the National Bituminous Coal Labor Board, and Edwin S. Smith, formerly Massachusetts commissioner of labor and industries.
Columbus reports by the Ohio Government Survey put possible yearly state savings at $7,962,887, with an additional $1,398,000 for potential savings. Chair C. O. Sherrill forecasts at least $5,000,000 in savings, with early figures already surpassing seven million as reports from efficiency experts continue.
In Toledo public schools Pierre Pasquer a French teacher who was dismissed and tentatively rehired received backing from the American Federation of Teachers in his bid for full reinstatement. His contract was renewed pending a State Education Department appearance. The federation may back three other Ohio teachers J L Sprately Robert Stephens and E B Pendleton all formerly Austabula teachers.
Marion attorney James H. Eymon, 62, renowned for opening safes by feel, died Monday. He aided banks and firms in malfunctioning combinations, estimating he had opened about 1,500 safes in his career.
Berlin presses report a growing list of state enemies detained by the Nazi regime. Police fear deterrence methods include protective custody for critics and discipline like weeks of imprisonment for removing placards. Reverend Poetter of Swinemuende held in protective custody for shutting his confirmation class amid youth pro Hitler activities. A 65 year old Piedmont mother Mrs. Ella McClintock pleaded guilty to operating a still on her farm. Sheriff fined her 100 dollars and costs, suspended during good behavior for age and ill health. Her son Cecil McClintock and Orlando Ryan also pleaded guilty and were fined one dollar each plus costs.
Columbus report says Ohio State Fair entered its second day with officials predicting a new attendance high. State agriculture director Earl H. Hanefeld estimated opening day crowds reached 35 000 as farm leaders and county fair managers toured the grounds.
County commissioners announced that C. Griffin was withdrawn as temporary administrator of old age pensions in Athens County. The office is now run by two investigators, Mrs. Lucille Good and Miss Rowena Sprout, who process annual reapplications signed by investigators and the old age pension board.
