Omnibus Ohio Election Measure Advances Through Senate
The Ohio Senate approved an omnibus elections bill aimed at aligning state rules with federal law and court rulings. It reduces residency from one year to six months, lowers voting age to 18, allows 30 day registration, permits absentee voting, and eases party petition thresholds. Democrats criticized the process as limited reform while supporting passage. A House measure on village subdivision rules was returned to committee.
