Bank alleges Jet Store breached lease at Richland Ave site
Ath ens National Bank petitions Common Pleas Court alleging Jet Stores Inc violated a four year renewal lease by selling beer and wine for carry out in a dry area. The bank seeks termination of the lease and eviction of Jet Store from the Richland Ave location.

Albany Man Denied Charge of Driving While Intoxicated
Donald Arthur Enlow of Albany, 21, pleaded innocent Monday in Municipal Court to a city police charge of driving while intoxicated. He was placed under a $300 bond and the case was continued.

Accidents Investigated By Patrolmen In Athens County
State Highway Patrol reports four accidents Monday in Athens County and surrounding areas. John David Thomas 17 of Nelsonville faced a charge for failure to stop within assured clear distance ahead after his car struck a county owned truck driven by Clarence William Warren 43. Warren was pulling a road sweeper on Athens County Rd 1A near Route 33. William Monroe Cooper 18 of Millfield faced a conditional speed charge after his truck struck an Ohio University driving training car on County Rd 19 near Route 56. A vehicle left the scene on Route 13 south of Route 685 after striking a highway sign wire fence and eight wooden posts on Richard Heller’s Millfield property. A minor two vehicle accident occurred on Route 50 west of the city limits. John E Misner 18 of Athens pleaded guilty to a disorderly conduct charge and was fined 25 dollars and costs. Richard Porter Curry 22 and Linda Sue Frum 20, both students of Athens, referenced.

Seven Injured In Police Investigated Accidents
City police investigated five crashes causing seven injuries. Among the injured were Donald S. Parsons and Agnes Parsons from Athens, Emerson J. Ball of Wonder Hills, Linda Lee Robinson of Athens, Otto E. Canter and Betty L. Canter, Clifton L. Critchfield, Deborah D. Schumacher, and Jessie James McKee. Victims were taken to Sheltering Arms Hospital. several drivers cited and one faced license issues.
