Hollywood August 23 A movie stunt flier Ron Wilson and actress Corinne Marlowe were booked on charges of riding in an airplane while intoxicated after their plane crashed into a tree near Glendale Residents fled their homes during the scare. a housewife helped shelter them until police arrived.
A tiny car driven along Court Street yesterday wowed youngsters at the Fair grounds. Powered by a washing machine motor it runs 20 mph on level ground and carries a single rider with a real license. The half gallon tank and air tires add to its novelty as free rides attract local children.
Ohio farmers may sell about 200000 spring pigs and 50000 piggy sows to the federal government under the Agricultural Adjustment Administration emergency program. Prices for spring pigs range from 9.50 per hundred for 25-30 lb pigs to 6 per hundred for 95-100 lb pigs, with piggy sows bought at the market price plus 4 per head. Roosevelt took a recess to visit a boy scout camp and was to review disarmament talks with Norman H Davis before returning to Geneva conference work.
London report from the World Wheat Conference says excess cereals may force producers to trim crops for three years. Large European harvests and new conditions since Geneva talks are cited as reasons for extending the curtailment period from two to three years.
In Rhinelander Wisconsin on August 23 an extortionist was killed and another arrested after an unsuccessful bid to extort $5,000 from George Goodroe a wealthy Iron County hotel proprietor. Robert Rogers 40 of Ironwood was shot by Oneida County officers when he and John Stokie 34 of Ironwood went to retrieve a package left with Goodroe.
Alfred Benneth, a Pleasant Retreat Township School teacher and nudism proponent, was removed after a public hearing attended by over 200. He plans to sue, vows to report for duty Monday, and says a local nudist colony already has 12 members with weekend gatherings.

Mechanicstown, Ohio. Roy C. Wrentmore, 28, was shot by his father Frank B. Wrentmore after the father mistook him for a prowler at a poultry house on their farmland three miles east of town. The elder man said he fired after seeing a figure near the hen house, then realized he had killed his son.
The Union Electric Light and Power Company cuts rates by 1.6 million dollars, making St. Louis the home of the nation's lowest electric light tariff. He says repeal will occur by December and Ohio will vote to repeal its prohibition this fall. He urges Governor George White to act to modify or repeal Ohio prohibition laws.
In Columbus on August 23 the Democratic state chair contest spills into the Senate risking confirmation of W. B. Francis Martins Ferry to the State Civil Service Commission. Francis backs John Nolan Steubenville while Gov White backs the governor’s appointee and faces opposition from Honie who supports Dr Gary Wateson.
