Local Span May Be Freed By November
The Jones Turner Bill to free tolls on the Pomeroy Mason Bridge gains support in state government. Passage in the Senate and House clears the way for toll-free operation by November if funds cover operating costs. Local leaders credit Gov Lausene and civic groups for arranging backing. Freeing the span would restore a barrier between Pomeroy Bend and West Virginia and boost interest in the Blue and Grey Trail along U. S. Route 33.
