Special Vote Declared Impossible in Middleport Bond Plan
Middleport citizens led by Harry Barnes and others visited the State Tax Commission in Columbus to seek a special election on a $40,000 municipal building bond before November. Attorneys concluded such an election is illegal without a state of emergency, so permission was denied. Industry hopes hinge on building specifications and timely location. Eva Sells Jaeger, 65, a Columbus bar member and genealogist, died today claiming descent to Adam and Eve.
