She is regarded as the oldest living midget in the United States. Her real birthday is Sunday but the celebration coincided with Children's Day at the World’s Fair. Her party was attended by Children and 100 residents of the midget village. she has a brother six feet tall.
Chicago report says the Touhy Northwest Side mob fled to the Southwest by airplane after a carefully laid trap. Melvin Purvis confirmed tips that Touhy men used air transport funded by kidnapping proceeds, as authorities broaden their search beyond the city.

Mark H. Shank confessed to poisoning four members of the Alvin Colley family and was bound over to the September grand jury. He pleaded not guilty and waived a preliminary hearing. The code is seen as uniting miners and operators toward shared markets and fair profits.

Three Athens anglers Joe Walburn W A Carpenter and Don O Neil fished a Muskingum spot at night. A swish in the water struck Carpenter on the leg and three bass leapt aboard the boat as Nos 2 and 3 joined in. They ended with a three foot eel and a large gar.

A car carrying four people left the Homeworth North Georgetown Highway southwest of Salem and crashed into a tree then a farm house. Two girls died instantly. a 24 year old from Sebring named Narlieen Stanley died. A second girl was identified only as Miss Taylor. Two men were injured in the crash while joy riding as the car failed to turn and went into a ditch near the Dummel farm.
Floyd Leffler of New Pittsburgh pleaded guilty to failure to provide for a minor when arraigned before Magistrate Cari H Porter. He was placed under bond. Gen eva Leffler Thomas Jones of Middleport was fined $10 and costs on an intoxication charge after arrest by Constable Frank White. Jones was committed to county jail in default of payment. Jesse Ely near Mineral pleaded not guilty to carrying away two toilets, sills, and one chestnut tree from Lodi Township. Ely was placed under $200 bond. Grace Stoltze filed an affidavit against Herman Stroskey. he will have a preliminary hearing before magistrate Porter on Aug. 21.
Deputy Karl Gardner reports two couples escaped injury when their car overturned on Richland Avenue at 5 30 o clock last night. Driver Fred Millireen and his passengers Wayne Landis Grace Frazee and another unknown girl were involved.
Cleveland on August 18 reports Mary E. Woods regional director announced that one hundred thousand Ohio employers have signed the NRA agreement. They hire more than six hundred thousand employees.
