Cedar Point August 17. A fast speedboat run across Sandusky Bay with oxygen tanks attempted to revive Laurel Hope Jordan nine, daughter of Mr and Mrs T Jordan of Cleveland, whose body was found in Lake Erie. Five tanks of oxygen were used but she was pronounced dead.

New York August 17 Three day suspensions were imposed on Brooklyn managers Max Carey and catcher Al Lopez for participating in a rowdy demonstration during yesterday's Dodgers Pirates game at Ebets Field. Carey was fined for laying hands on umpire Ted McGrew after Lopez protested a plate decision. The incident escalated as Lopes threw his mitt and chest protector into the air and both managers were ejected.
Mark H. Shank admitted he plotted to extort $400 from an Akron woman by blackmail and killed Alvin Colley his wife Ethel and two sons Clement and Clarence near Malvern Arkansas. He said the scheme began before he left for Ohio Weeks. He claimed he would be implicated unless paid.
