Shrine Dedication At St John’s Grotto In Lodi Township

A grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes was dedicated Sunday at St. John’s Catholic Church in Lodi Township. Father James M. McMahon blessed the limestone shrine built by the church, with the statue donated by Mrs. Frank Weisenbach and her five children. In attendance were Athens and Lodi Township church members and descendants of early settlers buried in the adjoining cemetery. Separately, a Greens Run man, Fred Oliver Jr., 27, was hospitalized in critical condition after a father son shooting at their home. Fred Oliver Sr., 59, is in custody and faces possible charges. The incident follows a string of similar killings and violence in the area over the past year.
