Open class rabbit entries at the Mason County Fair awarded trophies and ribbons. Brett Grinstead took best of show. John McCoy won two firsts and blue ribbons. Mark Johnson received five blue ribbons. Recent visitors to the home of Mr and Mrs Clarence Spurrier Sr Pomeroy included Mr and Mrs Willus West Mrs Warren Graham and sons David and Greg of Powhatan Point their son and daughter in law Mr and Mrs Steven Spurrier of Columbus and Mr and Mrs Burnett Knapper of Kansas Ohio SM Sargent and Mrs Clarence Spurrier Jr and son Dennis left for Dayton to visit Patterson Air Force Base. The Spurriers had just returned from Anchorage Alaska where he was stationed the past two years. They also hosted other relatives.

Winners Named In Golfing Hole-In-One Held In Meigs
The Pomeroy-Middleport Lions Club hosted the Hole-in-One event at Rock Springs Fairgrounds with three top winners. Don Browning claimed the men’s title with a 10% feet shot, David Reed and Mary Folmer won second and ladies’ titles as scores ranged from 4 feet 10 inches to 7 feet 10 inches.
