Trout resigns as Athens County Democratic Party chair
Trout says time is right to resign as county party chair to allow a younger leader to prepare for next year’s elections. He cites the November ballot including all county offices except one commissioner seat and the auditor, plus Ohio House and Senate races and a presidential year. He aimed to boost involvement since 2014 but feels he fell short of his goal. He has discussed possible successors with three people, none committed.
