Nelsonville High School coach Julian Yantis and the football and basketball teams were honored at a mothers’ dinner in the K of P Hall. A three course chicken dinner, master of ceremonies Charles Evans, tributes, and a white painted game ball for the trophy case followed by bingo.

Spencer Rites Held At Methodist Church
Funeral services for Mrs. Esther Patton Spencer were held Thursday at 2 pm at the Nelsonville Methodist Church. Rev. H A Rothrock and Rev. D C Shearer officiated. The Pocahontas Degree attended and rendered a grave side ritual at Green Lawn Cemetery. Survivors include her husband a young daughter and her parents Mr and Mrs Albert Patton plus several sisters and brothers.

Chippewas Presbyterian Club Meets Friday for Elections

Bingo party draws 265 at Red Men’s Hall in Nelsonville
The Degree of Poca hontas hosted a bingo night with 265 attendees awarding 30 prizes plus five and three specials. A follow up party is planned for next Wednesday. Evening worship hours at Church of Nazarene revised after Sunday with services and meetings set.

Legion Corps to Parade and Attend District Conference
Nelsonville American Legion Post members and drum corps plan to attend the district conference in New Lexington next Sunday. The parade is set for 1 PM with a drum corps competition for a 25 cent street price. Corps Commander Mechem calls all members to a Friday rehearsal at 7 PM.
