Smorgasbord Dinner Planned by WSCS at First Methodist
The Woman's Society of Christian Service of the First Methodist Church schedules its third annual Smorgasbord for Friday evening in Fellowship Hall with seatings 4:30 to 5:45 and 5:45 to 7:00. Tickets cost for adults and children, with 500 total available and some at the door. Menu features chicken, Swedish meat balls, jellied veal, seafood, salads, vegetables, breads, and cakes.

The Dreamers trio Sherry Powell Lelia Owens Muriel Rowley sang selections while readings were given by Jimmy Washburn Mrs. Ernest Cole and Mrs. Franklin Washburn. The Rome group plans a May Albany Grange appearance and a Rome program in July with juvenile work guided by Helen Howell and Wilma Minear. West Elementary School pupils showcased science fair projects across grades from kindergarten to sixth. Highlights include seven astronaut busts by Mrs. Ruth Jump's sixth grade, terrariums and woodland habitat displays, an Athens map with routes and landmarks, and experiments on atomic structure heat soil conservation sound magnetism water cycle and simple machines.

The Athens Shrinettes of LOSNA met at Mrs. Dave Hughes home in Parkersburg with fifteen members attending. President Mrs. Jerry Jagers led the business meeting while Mrs. William Poling helped host a dessert course.
