Wrecked DC7 Fuselage Tests Air Space Problem

In Las Vegas area a United Airlines DC7 crashed after colliding with a US Air Force F100 during an instrument training mission. The two planes collided at 21 000 feet in clear weather, killing all aboard both aircraft. Brig. Gen. James C. McGehee of Nellis AFB said training penetration by F100s is coordinated with the CAB and called for investigation to decide if such flights will be halted.

Tornado Strikes Farm Area Injuring Eleven Near Midlothian

A tornado raked farms south and east of Midlothian Texas injuring eleven people and ripping a four room frame house. Two year old Gary Froning was sucked from his collapsed home and hurled about fifty yards into a pasture but escaped with a cut chin. The Fronings found him after the storm passed as debris lay around the ruined dwelling.

Troubled Boy Sentenced for Mother's Murder in Idaho

Rexburg, Idaho. Tommy Brophy, 15, was sentenced to 32 years in prison for killing his mother last February. He must serve at least a third. Judge Willard Burton noted a hidden storm, citing plans to murder 20 neighbors found among his papers.

Three Killed In Strange Gun Battle At Dana Point

A deranged man driving a battered school bus opened fire in Dana Point California killing Charles Seyfert 39 and his son Tommy 10 and Deputy Edward Johnson 31. Deputy Robert Shultz 37 died and a 14 year old boy was wounded. Lt Dou ble reported 30 bullet holes in the bus and the gunman died.
