Afghan says 36 militants killed after MOAB attack

Afghanistan says 36 Islamic State militants were killed after the United States dropped the 20,000 pound Massive Ordnance Air Blast. Afghan officials reported no immediate civilian casualties though the blast forced residents to abandon Shodal village in Nangarhar province as Afghan commandos and U.S. advisers pressed a two week tunnel operation. General Nicholson defended the strike as targeting tunnels used by militants.

ACEnet works to move local foods into regional markets

ACEnet aims to connect small producers with wholesalers and regional retailers via a centralized distribution network. West Virginia distributors would bulk haul products from ACEnet’s Food Venture Center to central warehouses, helping local farms like Rhonda Dortch’s heirloom corn reach distilleries and stores more cost effectively. The ARC funding and potential federal cuts loom, with local officials urging continued ARC support.
