The CCL group met Tuesday at the home of Mrs. Max Duncan. Chief of Police J B Grogan spoke to aid a needy family. Mrs. Donald Hoffee presided assisted by Mrs. Lewis Wigal. A report on the food drive was given and Wigal won the hostess prize.
Community calendar lists Officers elections at St Pauls Home and School Association. Scout and bridge clubs meet in Athens area with times from 1:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Groups include Alpha Delta Pi Auxiliary, Sigma Phi Gamma, Newcomers Club, Athens Needle Club, Naomi Bible Class, and more. Observances include birthdays and farewell showers. note changes of day for Marshfield clubs and a 53rd Grange anniversary sewing contest.
The Athens Grange met Thursday with Russell Rashore in charge. Leona Burson led an Easter program with singing and a pantomime by Geneva Wilderman, accompanied by Bess Jones. George Ford and Frank Hughes gave safety talks and plans were made for a May 9 visit to the Hocking Co. Grange. Refreshments for 70 members were served by Joe Jagers, Howard Waller and spouses. Capers with parsley and peppers were prepared for an eggs in white sauce dish.
