SEORC Urges Teamwork for Industrial Growth in Southeast Ohio
Dr. Robert L. Savage of Ohio University told nearly 100 SEORC members at the Ohio University Inn that aggressive promotion and teamwork are essential to attract and expand industry in Southeastern Ohio. He urged combining labor, management, and university resources into an industrial research park, stressing that existing industry drives most expansion and Ohio University can assist but not do the job alone. Authority warned that a labor climate matters more than wage rates, and highlighted Logan's success as a model. Future SEORC meetings were announced including an all-day July 11 at Portsmouth and a Sept. 19 session at Nelsonville to tour the Tri-County Joint Vocational School.
