Pomeroy Considers Lower Gas Rates After Council Action
POMEROY April 4 After a brief pre meeting session the council unanimously approved directing the city solicitor to draft a gas rate ordinance restoring the pre franchise rate from September 1930. The move marks the first step toward lower rates while noting the franchise option remains open to Ohio Fuel Gas Co or any capable bidder. The council also touched on a town ordinance restricting liquor sales but made no decision, as it would not hinder 3.2 beer sales. The session ended promptly.
