Tragedy at Blue Goose Ends in Fatal Shooting
Vinton Young, 24, shot G. M. Stanley, 34, at the Blue Goose saloon near York township and Carbondale Thursday night. Stanley is dying from injuries. Young was arrested and jailed after a preliminary hearing. Witnesses described a rowdy scene with boxing and noise before the shooting.

Death of Isaac W Peoples at 73 in Athens
Isaac W Peoples died Saturday night at the home of Mr and Mrs David Nanna on Central avenue. He was 73 and long a resident of Athens. His wife died about seventeen years ago. The remains were taken to Torch for funeral services conducted by Rev T L Lowe of Athens. He leaves several children including D W Peoples of the Athens Lumber Company.
