Special to the Banner Greensboro Sept. 23 A Georgia Railroad freight wreck at Moss Spur two miles west of Greensboro fatally injures flagman Co B Willingham of Harlem dying hours later. Conductor M R Mason injured with a broken leg. Two black rail crew hurt but not seriously. Seven or eight cars and engine derail. Caboose demolished delaying trains. Conductor Marvin Mason of Atlanta hospitalized at Elkin Goldsmith Sanitarium resting easily.
The father of Jack Scoggins traveled from Tennessee to Athens to pursue murder charges brought by the coroner's jury who allege he stabbed Horace Denton to death. Police shadowed him during the search, but no clues to the son’s whereabouts were found.
