The Athens Chamber of Commerce held a packed monthly meeting at City Hall, with President Dorsey praising rising attendance and a revived city spirit. Secretary Callaway outlined improvements, and a farewell to retiring secretary A W Brooks was read as a new executive plan was adopted.
Mrs. Sarah Adeline Jonas, 72, longtime Methodist Church member, died yesterday at 113 Jonas Street Barberville after a brain illness. She lived largely homebound for decades and outlived most relatives. She leaves husband Thomas A Jonas and daughter Mrs Josephine E Scott plus grandson Gordon E Jonas. funeral Sunday 11 AM at Mara Hill Church Oconee County, Willie Saye pastor. Pallbearers meet at Miller's undertaking parlors at 9 AM.
Dr. Andrew M. Soule president of the State College of Agriculture arrived in Athens after a Canada trip and Washington visit. He sent his speech to the National Bankers Association which was read at the convention as he hurried to duties.
